Efficiency Isn’t an Afterthought.

Sustainability shows up throughout Weber’s operation, from the materials it sources to what happens to what’s left over. Every choice, from ink to trailer loads, comes back to the same question: is there a way to do this with less waste?

SFI Certified

Responsible sourcing standards for the fiber used in Weber's corrugated packaging.

ISO 9001:2015

A quality management standard for consistent processes, production, and continuous improvement.

SQF Certified

Food safety and quality standards for packaging produced for food-related applications.

ISTA Certified Laboratory

In-house testing for how packaging performs through shipping, handling, and distribution.

Cutting Waste at the Source.

Cleaner air on the pressroom floor matters, not just cleaner numbers on a spec sheet. That’s why Weber partnered with Sun Chemical to reformulate nearly its entire ink portfolio. Most inks now run below 2% VOC, a significant cut in pressroom emissions compared with prior years.

Automated palletizing takes some of the guesswork out of stretch film, too. The equipment applies the amount needed for each pallet, reducing excess film compared with manual wrapping.

Less Travel, Less Impact.

Prepress, corrugated production, printing, converting, packout, and shipping all happen within Weber’s Philadelphia operation. Keeping those steps in one place eliminates much of the transportation and outside coordination that comes with moving work between facilities. Managing prepress in-house also cuts the back-and-forth of proofing rounds, along with courier runs and proof stock waste.

Weber uses KiwiPlan TSS to maximize trailer space on outbound shipments. That means fewer truck deliveries to move the same amount of product, less fuel burned, and fewer emissions per shipment. Because Weber manufactures locally and serves a largely regional customer base, many finished products also travel far less distance than packaging made overseas, with lower transportation emissions per unit.

Sorted, Collected, Reused.

Stacks of large cardboard rolls in a warehouse, highlighting sustainable materials for eco-friendly practices.

Weber’s recycling program goes well beyond corrugated scrap. Plastic pallets, glue totes, wood pallets, 55-gallon drums, ink buckets, and strapping are all collected for recycling or reuse instead of entering the waste stream, then routed back into manufacturing supply chains.

The Cycle Doesn’t End Here.

A package shouldn’t reach the end of its useful life the moment a product is unboxed. Weber sources SFI-certified fiber from responsibly managed forests for its corrugated packaging. Corrugated is one of the most recycled packaging materials available, and Weber’s board contains significant recycled fiber that can be recovered and used again.

Retail-ready displays can reduce waste farther down the supply chain as well. By arriving ready for the retail floor, displays cut secondary packaging and handling at the customer’s end, a downstream benefit that extends beyond Weber’s four walls.
